“Some people see scars, and it is wounding they remember. To me they are proof of the fact that there is healing.”

Background and Education

Medical Studies
Michelle Becker, M.D., was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and spent her early years living in several states before returning to Cincinnati, where she completed middle and high school. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences at the University of Cincinnati, supplementing her studies with graduate work in Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Zoology, and Literature.
She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical College of Ohio (now the University of Toledo College of Medicine). During her final clinical rotation, she trained under the late Dr. Archie Bedell, a respected family physician and Residency Director at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. His mentorship inspired her to pursue residency there and shaped her philosophy of patient-centered medicine.
Dr. Becker became Board-Certified in Family Medicine and has proudly maintained that certification throughout her career.
Residency
St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center: after completing medical school in Ohio, where Dr. Becker acquired clinical experience at three different Level I Trauma Centers. Dr. Becker attended the St. Vincent MercyMedical Center FM Residency program under the tutelage of the late Archie Bedell, MD, PhD, a pioneer in FM education and a phenomenal “old-fashioned” physician and mentor.

Benefits of Diverse Training
Dr. Becker completed her residency training at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, a busy Level I Trauma Center in Toledo, Ohio, where she gained extensive experience across intensive care, neonatal care, surgery, and internal medicine. She also trained at St. Charles Hospital, a 390-bed Level III Trauma Center and part of the Mercy Healthcare system, where residents were entrusted with managing diverse services including obstetrics, gynecology, emergency medicine, and critical care.
This breadth of training gave Dr. Becker a comprehensive foundation in Family and Internal Medicine, with special focus on adult, geriatric, and preventive care. Her experience encompassed managing complex chronic conditions — from cardiovascular and endocrine disorders to nutritional deficiencies, bone health, mental health, and age-related challenges — preparing her to provide thoughtful, whole-patient care throughout every stage of life.
